Adopting a soulful approach to organic marketing for your business isn’t just another ‘functional tool’ to get your results – although it does over time – it’s a feeling, a way of being, a movement. It’s an active choice to shift towards sharing content that not only attracts your ideal audience but nurtures them. Approaching your social media and marketing in this way feels good, not only for you as the one showing up in this way but for you audience on the receiving end. Wouldn’t it be nice to share content that actually feels nice to digest for a change?
Here’s the best bit (and my favourite part!) Followers become your engaged audience. Your engaged audience becomes a loyal customer or client, which in turn means they’ll advocate for you and your brand, naturally. Speaking highly about you in rooms you’re not in, like a best friend does for her soul sister.
The Soulful Approach is a form of authentic marketing. It isn’t something ‘woo woo’, and not anything you haven’t seen before in marketing. It’s a different way of looking at what you’re sharing online, how you’re sharing it – respectfully, honestly, and authentically – and why you’re choosing to post what you’re posting.
I like to visual it is as ‘zooming out’ (think Google Earth!). Instead of hyperfixating on one post, on one week, in one particular month, spiralling out over why the views tanked despite the hours you spent fiddling about on Canva to make it look perfect. The Soulful Approach encourages you to look at your brand as a whole ecosystem, The Content Univserse, as I like to call it.
Viewing your brand as more than just a content calendar, and looking at what’s going on in all areas of your business means that every touchpoint your customers receive looks – and more importantly – feels like YOU. Which in an era of bots, AI slop and the like, is vital not only for the health of your brand but also your sanity. Trust me, I would know.
I created this concept of viewing your brand as an entire Universe because it really is way more expansive than just one post, one time. It’s a living, breathing, organic thing that evolves with change – so just viewing it as a rigid content calendar feels restrictive and outdated. It’s looking beyond the single post that underperformed and out into the Universe of:
~ Rented spaces (social media platforms = borrowed attention).
~ Owned channels (your website, your newsletter, your blog, they’re yours forever).
~ Earned media (press, podcasts, collaborations = someone else’s trust lent to you).
By taking this holistic, full-brand approach, every touchpoint your audience receives feels authentic, genuine and personal – building deep-rooted and long-lasting connections. A feel-good and effective marketing strategy for growth.

We’re living in an age now where AI is everywhere and it’s getting so clever that it’s becoming harder to spot the human-written pieces from the AI crafted ones. But no artificial intelligence can ever replicate the authenticity of YOU: who you are, what your story is, how your past has shaped who you are, why you do what you do.
Authentic marketing attracts your audience by purposefully and intentionally building relationships with them, to earn their trust over time. It does not mean bombarding them with a post every day, only trying to ‘sell’ them something and not letting them into your world in some way. Being truthful, after many years of experience owning and interpreting audience data, turning insight into actionable strategic direction being real and a little venerable, dare I say, is the way forward. It means that you’re human.
This is achieved through the way you position yourself as the expert, trusted voice in your industry and the way that you share this expertise through your messaging. Remaining true to yourself, to your values and your why in the way you show up online will always win over the ‘throwing mud at a wall and hoping it sticks’ approach.
A soulful approach isn’t starting from scratch. It’s refining what you’re already putting out into the world.
Be real, be you. Everyone else is already taken, and you’re pretty awesome!
Brand words that feel like you. A little personality, a little cheekiness. Emotive language moves people because emotion drives decisions.
Show the change instead of telling people about it. Show it, don’t tell it and you’re golden.
Share words and visuals with soul. Connect authentically, inspire trust, and grow by leaning on each other, not alone.
If you’re someone who spends a million hours spinning the plates, ticking off the to-do list and getting the things done never finding a moment to work ON your business – I have the solution for you. My strategy days are a deep dive day into your brand’s entire online universe covering social media, digital marketing, content creation, press coverage, partnerships & collaborations… and most importantly, how you desire to FEEL when you show up online.
This is the day off from your everyday you deserve to take where no one asks you to do the laundry, yells “Mum!!” ten thousand times or interrupts you when your spiciest ideas are flowing.
